About Us
ORDA (Reggio Emilia Observatory for the Right to Housing) is a project that combines analysis and struggle for the right to housing and the right to the city, based in Reggio Emilia, Italy. We started out as a cross-cutting space for monitoring grassroots struggle in our territory, with the aim of imagining and putting into practice new models of a sustainable and equitable city.
We are a space for listening and collective action for those experiencing housing hardship, and for organizing to challenge the speculative logic of the market and the rent-based paradigm.
ORDA is part of “Spazi Sociali di Reggio Emilia,” a political organization made up of three social centers (Lab AQ16, Casa Bettola, Città Migrante) that for 30 years has built networks of solidarity, mutualism, and struggle in the city.
All of ORDA’s and the organization’s initiatives and publications can be found on the Spazi Sociali website.
