Housing Action Days 2026

The year began with blaring alarms: we are witnessing genocides and wars driven by the interests of the powerful, fuelling a new wave of militarisation. The rich are getting richer while democracies across the globe are being hollowed out, and millions are struggling to secure basic needs and a house to live in. As crises multiply, people are forced to migrate, only to be met with closed borders, repression and increasingly racist policies. All of this unfolds amid accelerating climate breakdown, deepening inequalities and pushing societies further towards chaos.

We are tenants resisting evictions, workers struggling for fair wages and to make ends meet, unhoused people fighting for good housing for all, and communities reclaiming land and space for collective life. We are the global majority organised in unions and movements, uniting for a fair life on a liveable planet and challenging the powerful who are driving us to catastrophe.

Last year, people mobilised worldwide in over 60 cities and towns! In 2026, from the 23rd to the 29th of March, we take action together again! We fight back on an international front to challenge the root of the multiple crises we face: a system rigged to maximise the profits of a few, while crashing the lives of the many.

Against evictions, the repression of activists, the selling off of our cities through touristification and speculation, the looting of our lands, the rising cost of living, their war planes and the destruction of our planet, we push forward a vision of a world centred on a good life for all.

We come together, we march, we occupy, we block, we organise, from squats to rent strikes, from mass protests to community-led solutions!
