About Us

Our collective HARTA aims at undoing the residential inequality and exploitation as it plays out in small Greek municipalities and at the community control and management of the vacant housing stock, which we consider to be a crucial step to restore social justice.

Our goal is the de-commodification of housing en masse and the provision of housing to all people facing (the potentiality of) homelessness, visible or hidden.

Our group is active in the small municipality of Naoussa, now mapping (collectively) the vacant homes, trying to raise awareness on housing as a right and to create a local housing syndicate.

Our struggle — at odds with a long history of laissez faire ideology that has canonized access to housing as a private matter to be solved by the market alone — started in December 2020.
