About Us

“For Hope” Foundation/Фондация „За Надежда” is a young Bulgarian non-governmental organization, established in January 2023. The founders have been working with people in vulnerable situations for nearly 20 years, and the initiative to create the foundation was born after two and a half years of working with the international non-governmental organization “Doctors of “Doctors of the world” in the segregated neighborhood “Nadejda” in the city of Sliven, Bulgaria. The Foundation aims to help improve the situation of discriminated individuals and disadvantaged communities through adapted and innovative activities, but also through active and dynamic advocacy built in coalition with other civil society organizations operating in Bulgaria and/or Europe. The Foundation also has a specific focus on the prevention and protection of children and women who are victims of abuse and violence, as well a focus on fighting precarity and improving the housing situation and policies.
