About Us
A group of activists active in housing rights struggles in Brussels that formed at the beginning of the containment of the COVID 19 pandemic. Families found themselves locked in substandard housing and/or unable to pay their rent. In this context, what we were already denouncing and claiming before took on another dimension.
We are determined to denounce the processes of commodification and financialization of housing and we demand affordable and dignified housing for all at all times. We believe that private property ownership as it exists precludes the right to housing, in the sense that it serves the lucrative interests (of vendors and landlords) more than it ensures access to housing for all. This is why we believe it is essential to question, limit and rethink it, while cultivating alternatives (social, cooperative and self-managed housing).
